Human Resources Management is something I have always had an interest in. Helping people to work better and achieve their objectives improves the efficiently of the company. I'm proud to work for a big and successful company, where I have the chance to improve my capabilities with plenty of support. The training programme provides you with an opportunirty to experience all aspects of the business which is helping me to create a picture of the whole company. For example, I have spent a couple of months in the operational area (the "heart" of the company) learning how we provide our services every day, what you have to know to manage the service and how much important communication and collaboration between people is. I now know how to keep a bus company successful. After this part I saw how the administration area is managed, what needs to be done every day, are necessary to do, and I have learnt how it is possible "to talk numbers". This was a new area for me, so I found it quite difficult to understand but, for this reason, very interesting and challenging. At the moment I'm in the HR department, where I have started to understand how people are managed in the company, trying to put into practice what I have studied at university. I like this programme because it gives you not only the possibility to delve into your own knowledge, but also provides you with the possibility to broaden your skills. Another strength of the programme is that you are not alone, there are some other graduates that, as you, have done and are doing your same programme. If you have any questions, if you want to know how a situation is managed abroad, you have just to ask them. Moreover, at least four times in a year, you have the possibility to attend a training course in an another European country, meeting other people and comparing your experiences. Therefore, I think that this programme it's the best way to make a smooth transition from university to the working world. I'm sure that, in the end of this experience, it will inspire my self-growth, helping me to open my eyes to what work is really about and, more important, to know myself better, with an understanding of my strengths, weaknesses, how to deal with them and understand other people. |
