I joined Arriva in 2008 as a graduate trainee. To be a part of an organisation of these dimensions and to be involved in a training programme which focuses on developing and shaping several management skills was very exciting and a great staring point. Besides that, I must add that since the first day I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of friendly people who really welcomed and supported me in the organisation.

The training programme allowed me to have contact with several departments like quality management, health and safety, communication and marketing, human resources, planning and finance. In all these areas we could always count on the support and counselling of senior managers, and to be able to do the work along side with experienced professionals is really the best way to learn about this or any business.

I still haven't finished my trainee programme, it's still missing a very important and challenging stage, an operational depot experience but I feel that by the end of it I will have worked and developed not only technical but, most importantly, my soft skills.

I'm sure that the challenges and the learning process won't stop with the conclusion of the programme, the business is constantly changing and it's crucial to keep up with those changes and take the opportunities that the group offers
